Your privacy is important to Quillsoft Ltd. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with our privacy practices and let us know if you have any questions.
Collection and use of personal information
Personal information is defined as data that can be used to identify or contact the purchaser of our software, such as an individual, an institution (such as a school or school district), a company, or a governmental body.
No personal information is collected through the use of our software, although your email or domain address may be transmitted securely to our licensing server to confirm that your license is valid or whether you are using our software on a trial basis and for how long.
What personal information we may collect at the time of purchase
Here are some examples of the types of personal information Quillsoft and its affiliates may collect and how we may use it:
When you purchase a product, download a software update, register for training, contact its affiliates or participate in an online survey, we may collect a variety of information, including your name, mailing address, phone number, email address, contact preferences, and payment information.
Quillsoft does not collect or retain any student data through the use of our products. In the situation where our products are purchased by volume for a school, collection of schools, or a school district, student email addresses that are used in the online licensing of our products are entered by a school/district license administrator in Quillsoft’s online licensing manager and immediately encrypted. Only a school/district license administrator can view the email addresses.
When our products are licensed by domain, for a school or a school district, Quillsoft enters that domain into its licensing manager and no individual email addresses are used.
There is no contact between Quillsoft and individual students licensed under a school, collection of schools, or a school district, except for ongoing checking of the validity of a license via Quillsoft’s online licensing manager.
Personal information as discussed in the following sections only applies to the school/district administrators and purchasers when Quillsoft products are purchased on behalf of students as described in the previous paragraph.

We may use your personal information to verify identity, assist with identification of users, and to determine appropriate services.
From time to time, we may use your personal contact information to send important notices, such as communications about purchases, updates and changes to our terms, conditions, and policies. Because this information is important to your interaction with Quillsoft and its affiliates, you may not opt out of receiving these communications.
Note that if you purchase our product(s) through an online store, such as Google Chrome Web Store, Apple App Store and Microsoft Windows Store, we receive no personal information about you. Therefore, important notices and update information are included in product descriptions on the online stores.
We may also use personal information for internal purposes such as auditing, data analysis, and research to improve Quillsoft’s products, services, and customer communications.
If you enter into a sweepstake, contest, or similar promotion we may use the information you provide to administer those programs.

We may collect and use, non-personal information for internal purposes only. The following are some examples of non-personal information that we may collect and how we may use it:
With your explicit consent, we may collect data about how you use your device and applications in order to help our developers improve our products.
